Sustainable Design

Importance

Harrison French & Associates, LTD acknowledges and honors the importance on how our design industry can influence our built environment which has a profound impact on our environment, economy, health, and productivity which contributes to our overall quality of life.

Commitment

We are a corporate member of the US Green Building Council (USGBC) which creates the standards and criteria for green building design using their Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system. We have recently launched our company wide Recycling Program as a common practice and awareness for sustainability.

Expertise

We are currently working on client projects involving sustainable products and materials and are involved in projects seeking LEED certification. Our staff is committed to continuing our knowledge in this vastly growing sector. We have 5 LEED Accredited Professionals and other expertise to assist our client’s green building needs and understanding.

Wall Paneling
Green Content: 85% of raw material is rapidly renewable.  Returned material and scrap is recycled into new panels.  A hygienic material that is scratch and impact resistant, safe to use and contains no heavy metals, halogens or biocides.

LED Lighting
In order to facilitate the energy efficiency in a high-tech exhibit hall, LED wall washing lamps were used to provide sufficient lighting in various colors while conserving energy.

Decorative Paneling
Green Content: Paneling material is created with an eco-resin that is a low VOC material unlike traditional polyester resins.  The inclusions (pattern materials) are organics that are rapidly renewable.

Counter Top
Content: 100% recycled glass and concrete.  A VOC free material and installed with VOC free adhesives.

Insulation
Green Content: 100% Post-industrial recycled denim and cotton fibers.  It contains no chemical irritants or carcinogens.  Contains an EPA registered fungal inhibitor and passed stringent indoor air pollutant testing.

Flooring
Green Content: The carpet and rubber flooring exceed 20% recycled materials.  The flooring was installed with low VOC emitting adhesives.
